Vancouver Island Brewing is seeking an Order Desk Coordinator to join our Brewery team! We are seeking a customer-focused professional with a proven passion for customer care and the ability to provide stellar service to all our customers and team members. As the Order Desk Coordinator, you will be responsible for handling all inbound and outbound calls and emails from potential and existing customers, while providing excellent customer service and processing beer orders. Our ideal candidate can build and maintain strong relationships with our customers and handles all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Your energy and enthusiasm will be evident, and every customer will hear the smile in your voice. You will be diligent in ensuring our customers receive the product they order accurately and on-time.
Responsibilities:
  • Initiate out-bound calls to customers for daily orders
  • Problem solving in-bound customer inquiries and concerns
  • Data entry of invoices
  • Generating credits and adjustments to customer accounts
  • Generating computer reports for Delivery and Sales Departments
  • Maintain accurate pricing in our database
  • Work closely and communicate often with other departments such as warehouse, sales reps, office, production and drivers
  • Process sales to the general public in our retail store
  • Perform a wide variety of office duties such as faxing, photocopying, scanning, emailing, printing, process payments, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Experience, Skills & Attributes:
  • 3+ years related experience in a customer service and/or order desk role
  • Diploma or Degree in office administration, business, or related area
  • Excellent customer service focus and professional telephone etiquette
  • Aptitude to identify and acknowledge customer needs and resolve customer concerns
  • Ability to be personable and build strong relationships
  • High degree of data entry accuracy and attention to detail, as well as follow-through
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel)

(Full-Time, Permanent) From humble beginnings and through loyal Island support, Vancouver Island Brewing has been brewing handcrafted premium quality beer for over 30 years! Our Brewery takes great pride in our award winning all-natural beers, our dedicated team, and the impact we continue to make in our local communities! We are looking for a team lead to manage our front-of-house brewery operations in our new Tasting Room! As an ambassador of Vancouver Island Brewing, our Tasting Room Lead is the first point of contact for our local patrons and visitors. Our ideal candidate is service-focused, a hospitality professional, and is passionate about the Craft Beer industry.
Responsibilities:
  • Welcome, serve and provide excellent service to our customers and visitors
  • Provide tasting flights and product education to customers on our premium craft beer products
  • Fill growlers at our growler bar and provide samples
  • Perform customer transactions using a Point of Sale (POS) System
  • Perform opening and closing duties (ie. cash management, inventory, sanitization)
  • Adhere to Serving It Right and LCLB licensing regulation
  • Maintain inventory stock levels of beer products and retail merchandise
  • Quality Control: daily tap system checks, regular cleaning, and stock rotation
  • Coordinate the team schedule and provide training to new team members
  • Provide guided tours of the brewery to small groups as required
  • Provide occasional support at craft beer events, festivals and during other promotional tastings

Required Experience, Skills & Attributes:
  • Must be Serving It Right certified
  • Former serving, bartending or customer service experience
  • Must have cash management and POS (Point of Sale) experience
  • Passionate about craft beer
  • Beer education and/or certification is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain high levels of customer service in a fast-paced environment and while managing multiple priorities/multi-tasking
  • Ability to routinely and repetitively lift at least 50lbs
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Vancouver Island Brewing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Brewery team! Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for keeping our packaging lines and all related production support equipment running to its full potential with a minimum amount of downtime. As a key member of our Maintenance Team, the technician will conduct machine set-up, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance service on our brewery and packaging equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain brewery equipment and packaging machinery
  • Perform daily inspection of packaging lines and brewery equipment
  • Maintain spare parts inventory
  • Train leads and operators on proper operation of bottling, canning and kegging maintenance
  • Rebuilt parts as needed
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair brewery and packaging equipment related problems such as mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic
  • Provide emergency unscheduled repairs of packaging equipment as needed
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Keep records of repairs and develop or make necessary changes to planned maintenance schedule
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and other tools to complete repairs
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience, Skills & Attributes:
  • High School diploma or equivalent and at least 4 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably on a packaging line in the food or beverage industry
  • Extensive experience and understanding of general mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, boilers, heating, refrigeration and general construction and handy-work
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • A basic understanding of industrial instrumentation and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Must be able to utilize lock out/tag out for machinery
  • Ability to reach and interpret plans, drawings, prints and schematics, operating manuals, and repair manuals
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal training and supervision
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and precision
  • Excellent communication skills and time management
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving/logic/process of elimination skills
  • Must be able to work additional hours and weekends as necessary
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the operator is regularly required to stand or walk for long periods of time, use hands to finger, handle, control, or feel objects tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. Must be able to kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl and maintain or regain their balance. Regularly required to lift and or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
