Overview
Vancouver Island Brewing has been part of the BC craft beer story from the start, and we’re still building. While much of the beer category is facing headwinds, we’re bucking the trend with double-digit growth and strong momentum behind the VIB brand. That growth is creating real opportunity, not just for the business, but for the people helping build it.
We’re looking for a scrappy, execution-focused Commercial Marketing Specialist who can turn ideas into action and help drive real results in market across key channels, including GLS, LRS, and On-Premise. This role sits at the intersection of sales and marketing and is focused on ensuring our products perform strongly in market. The successful candidate will help develop, execute, and refine programs that drive product velocity, working closely with sales, external partners, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Drive In-Market Performance
• Collaborate with Sales to improve sales velocity across GLS, LRS, and On-Premise channels
• Track and analyze the performance of promotions, displays, and campaigns
• Identify opportunities to improve sell-through, velocity, and overall in-market performance
• Bring forward practical, data-informed insights and recommendations
Campaign Execution and Commercial Impact
• Own development and execution of store-level and channel-specific programs across GLS and LRS
• Coordinate promotional activity, displays, and activations in partnership with the Sales & Marketing Coordinator
• Collaborate with Key Accounts Director to ensure consistent, high-quality execution across key accounts and channels
• Translate strategic direction into clear, executable marketing plans
Build and Refine What Works
• Own program performance tracking and identify what is driving results
• Collaborate with sales to implement a test-and-learn approach to improving in-market effectiveness
• Own turning successful initiatives into repeatable and scalable programs
• Quickly identify what’s working, what isn’t, and where adjustments are needed
Partner with Sales
• Collaborate with the sales team to understand in-market realities, challenges, and opportunities
• Support sell-in efforts with practical, easy-to-execute tools and programs
• Incorporate feedback from reps and distributor partners into program planning and execution
• Act as a strong cross-functional partner between sales and marketing
Manage Marketing Execution
• Lead day-to-day coordination with external partners, including agencies, design, and other vendors
• Ensure assets and materials are delivered on time and aligned with in-market needs
• Support the rollout of campaigns from concept through to execution in market
Digital, Social, and Paid Media
• Support the day-to-day relationship with external agency partners
• Help ensure timelines, deliverables, and KPIs are met
• Maintain alignment between agency output, brand direction, and commercial goals
Creative and Brand Execution
• Translate brand direction from senior leadership into clear creative briefs
• Ensure consistency across all marketing touchpoints
• Contribute ideas for campaigns, partnerships, and brand-building opportunities
• Support the development of content and campaigns with external partners
Marketing Plan Execution
• Own marketing calendars, timelines, and workback schedules
• Manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment
• Coordinate across internal teams, agency partners, and external vendors
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
What Success Looks Like
• Strong and consistent execution of programs across key channels
• Better visibility into what drives rate of sale
• Increased adoption and effectiveness of programs with sales and distributor partners
• Measurable improvements in product performance in market
Qualifications and Experience
• 2–5+ years of experience in marketing, trade marketing, sales, or a related field
• Experience in CPG, beverage alcohol, or retail environments is an asset
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Comfort working with data and turning insights into action
• Collaborative and able to work cross-functionally with sales and external partners
• Great understanding of digital marketing
• Strong commercial mindset and bias for execution
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
