Royston Rye IPA

With a punch of hops and just the right amount of spice, this reddish amber-coloured IPA is the perfect toast to the Royston Wrecks Breakwater, the rusting ships that guard the entry to Comox Harbour.

Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast
Malt: Superior Pilsner, Rye, Crystal
Hops : Super Galena (60), Simcoe (15,0,dry), Northern Brewer (0,dry), Citra (dry)
Aroma: High citrus and herbal hop notes with a moderate-low spicy and grainy malt character.
Appearance: Pale copper with a slight haze. Large off-white head with moderate retention.
Flavour: Medium-high orange and herbal hop notes with background notes of resinous hops and low toasted and caramel malts.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body with medium carbonation.
Overall Impression:This rustic Rye IPA pours a pale copper and boasts a robust malt backbone using two kinds of Rye Malt. It is loaded with Northern Brewer and Simcoe hops and dry-hopped with a healthy dose of Citra hops. A hearty ale to welcome the fall.
